back tracking to July *4th*

Our computer went "out" just before the 4th of July so I never got to post firework pictures.

We have a tradition of going with friends to watch the Long's Park Fireworks.  (only not at Long's Park)

We get there long before it is even dark & pack a picnic supper (Scott gets Chinese).

The ice cream truck rolls in playing its music & the kids run as fast as they can to get in line. 

The guys throw football & the kids run around playing their own games. 

We always have sparklers.

And then it gets dark & the fireworks start & we have big bowls of popcorn.

It is such a fun tradition with friends!

This year it was so so hot!

Jyla's first Independence Day in America!!!

yes....we are still here!

our computer has had it's far share of viruses & troubles in the past 6 months.  but we are back! 
our summer has been wonderful.  full of fun memories (& lots of pictures to share). jyla is still sleeping fairly well & that is a huge blessing.  this picture was taken at the beach a few weeks ago.

You may remember back in May, Scott's brother got married. 

It was a fun fun day with many crazy parts & memories!  There was never a dull moment!

WAY DOWN!

so that is the reason for my lack of posts.
hopefully everything will be back again soon.

We had a wonderful 4th of July.  Lots of fireworks, swimming, picnics & times with friends/family.
We've also been enjoying lots of time at the pool this week. 
addalie & jyla both LOVE the water
& as of last night
Jyla is loving to jump off of the diving board!
She's only 2 years old!?!?
Just last week she was terrified when other people (grandma stoltzfus) jumped off.  Jyla would wrap her arms around grandma's neck so tightly in an effort to keep her from going off of the dive...& now a few days later...she is doing it over & over herself.

Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures soon.

sleep

If you've been around us at all during the past 2 weeks,

you know that we are a HAPPY family!

Why??

Because Jyla is sleeping!!!!!

THE

LORD!!!

A few weeks ago thing were getting progressively worse w/Jyla's sleeping.

Every night & every nap was SO HARD.

It has been a LONG 10 months!

We decided to "change" a few things....

AND

Now she is doing much better at night!

She is learning how to put herself to sleep if she wakes up in the middle of the night

& also during her nap.

Don't misunderstand,

she (& her sister) have still been waking up a bit. 

But not nearly as much.

& we've actually gotten 2 full nights of sleep

(with NO ONE waking up) this past week.

That is a huge blessing in this house!

Hoping & Praying for more of those nights to come....

at least until we go on our next vacation. =)

 We are seeing a new side of Jyla. 

She is happier & she has even MORE energy than before. 

 Just look at that BIG "post-nap" smile!!!
