MUDD!!

A few weeks ago, Scott had a sausage sandwich stand at the Gordonville Fire Co. Sale. (aka The Mudd Sale) Scott really wanted us to come & visit, so I called my mom up just in case i needed someone to catch Addalie & I as we slipped through the mud! It was crazy!! The weather was horrible! Thunderstorms & high winds went through (luckily things were pretty calm when we were there.) We enjoyed sausage sandwiches & had fun taking in the "culture" of it all! Even though I've lived in Lancaster County most of my life, there are still moments when my mouth drops open & I am amazed at the things that go on around here. This was definitely one of those days!

Results

This past week we met with Addalie's urologist. He went over the results from the test that she had in Hershey a few weeks ago. His conclusion from that is that she needs surgery. However, he doesn't feel comfortable doing it because she is so young. We are going to need to go to another location for more specialized care. We are in the process of choosing the hospital/doctor to do the surgery. Either Hershey, CHOP, or DuPont. There are lots of variables as far as insurance goes etc. Thanks for your prayers.

HERSHEY

Earlier this week we went up to Hershey Medical Center for Addalie's (2nd attempt) MAG 3 Scan. It went much much better than the last time they tried it (at LGH a few weeks ago) This time, Addalie barely cried. The nurse got the IV in on the 1rst try. Praise the Lord! She had to be strapped to the table again. (they quickly realized that they would need extra "strapping devices" with Addalie because she is SOOO active) she was very frustrated by her immobility for the first 15 minutes, but we got her settled down & she actually fell asleep. This was also a blessing becuase she had to lay there restrained for over an hour while they ran the tests. The big machine that they used for the procedure reminded me of having an MRI done. Next week we will meet with our urologist to discuss the test results & hopefully get some clarity as to what will happen from here. She may have to have surgery to remove her kidney, or the doctors might just keep watching it.
