hmmm..
i've gotten myself into a bit of trouble......
i counted wrong!
can you believe it?
i was sure that i beat scott...
but i counted wrong.
& i didn't beat scott.
as you can imagine...
he wanted me to be sure to address this blog post/conversation as quickly as possible.
& his guess was that i would use the smallest possible font in this "whoops post."
but i didn't.
although thats a good idea!
this is a normal sized font.
this is the smallest size!!!

so..there you have it (scott)
for the 4th year in a row...
my husband
has beat me
in our march madness brackets.
i'm starting to understand why the word "madness" is in the title....

(i'm glad to hear that rest of you girls who commented were winners though!)

i just have to say it....

YES
indeed
my
March
Madness
bracket
BEAT
Scott's!!!
yep it did.

the end!

cake pops

sooo-
today i had a Target list (& the grocery section is officially opened!)
so we headed there & somehow we ended up meandering the aisles for quite some time.
i knew that i had pushed Jyla to the brink of naptime...
in fact she was starting to fall asleep sitting up in the cart!
i also knew that there was about a 99.9% chance that she'd fall asleep in the car
(ruining her nap at home)
if she didn't have "something" to keep her awake.
Our Target has a Starbucks right inside the door
& they came to the rescue with their CUTE new "cake pops"!!!
KB,it made me think of you!
i'm sure your cake balls are much better than Starbucks & you could have made millions had you sold them YOUR recipe!

I settled for my regular mocha...but got the girls each a treat to eat on the car ride home.
& no they didn't share w/me....so I didn't get to try them..
but they looked so YUM & cute!

you do the math!!!!

 1~3yr. old
4~2yr. olds
1~1yr. old
+
3 little lambs

we started with a yummy lunch inside
& then we went out to see the sheep & lambs.
as it turned out 1 of the precious little girlies was terrified of the lambs
so we ended up taking pictures w/out the lambs. =)
not this one..she had no fear!

these girls (+1) are all kinda related.  they had so much fun playing together!!!

& then we had cookies.
~the end~

the "stache"

all of this "mustache chatter" is cracking me up!!!!
& i would never "blog" about it just for kicks...
but since there have been quite a few comments about it....
it kinda felt like that was my invitation!
(sorry scott!)

for those of you who are privilaged enough not to witness his yearly ritual...
it starts with a beard.
a beard that is un-kept...& never, rarely trimmed.
& that is the bad part about all of this facial hair.

he says that he needs it to keep him warm when skiing.?????
he usually ends up looking like a scary terrorist
& has a hard time getting through airport security (no joke!)

when valentines day rolls around...i begin BEGGING & PLEADING for this creature to leave.
& usually i think he ends up feeling bad because he knows how much
I COMPLETELY HATE IT!!!
so the facial hair starts to come off in sections....
he will leave it like that for a few days & then shave a bit more off.
always trying to get as much reaction as he can w/his individual "looks"...

i usually choose to keep my camera in the bag during these times....
i wouldn't want to encourage this creativity of his now would i?
but if i would take pics..i would have more than a few crazy ones to show you.
i used to threaten not to shave my legs until he shaves his face...
& i used to very seriously entertain the idea of shaving his face while he was sleeping...
you know, like samson & delilah...
even if he'd wake up 1/2 way through...he'd have to finish shaving it.
but, after almost 9 years of marriage...
i know that i could be dealing with something a whole lot more difficult than facial hair.
but really....
i say this all in "love".

=)

sunday pm dinner

a few weeks ago on a sunday evening,
(when Scott still had his atrocious mustache)
we made soft pretzels.
i used to work at Auntie Anne's corporate office
& although i worked in the HR dept.,
rolling pretzels always brings back memories!
the girls had a *blast*.

in need

it's 3:20
i still haven't eaten lunch.
seeing as i'm a diabetic- technically that's not supposed to happen.
i did "find" some sugar somewhere in the 12 o clock hour to keep my sugars from plummeting...
it's been one of "those" days...
both girls are SUPPOSED to be napping.
neither one is.
both are crying, tired & desperately need the sleep
that they are fighting.

addalie isn't feeling well
so last night was very sleepless.
these days i feel like my capacity is reaching
98% with caring for my girls.
yes, i only have 2-
yes, some of my friends have 6 kids +...& they manage it all quite nicely.

but i have 2...& for right now as they each have individual "things" that they are working through as we are still transitioning..
that is more than enough to keep me busy.

they are at an age where they are dependent enough to "need" me to provide for almost all of their needs...
but independent enough to make huge messes & fight with each other & talk back!
i am COMPLETELY thankful for both of them.
please hear me on that.

the whole point of all that i'm saying is:
I NEED THE LORD!

(jyla & scott 11-2010)

i need HIM to give me wisdom
as i address the hitting, kicking, scratching
& in this mornings' case, even the bleeding.
i need HIM to give me p a t i e n c e
as one of my children has had a week full of repeated disobedience.
i need HIM to give me endurance
as i got out of bed last night for the 7th time in 2 hours with my sick child...finally i just slept in bed with her...& you know how that goes ;)
i need HIM to give me understanding & love
as we continue to navigate through things with Jyla's attachments & difficult behaviors.
i need HIM to give me grace
as i try to evaluate all of the "other" obligations outside of the home that daily present themselves.
i need HIS strength
when Scott is working long hours.
i need HIS forgiveness
when i raise my voice/border line yell-at my precious girls.
ahhh i NEED HIM.

& i am thankful
that "HE will supply every need of mine, according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Phil 4:19

more FL favorites!

Our friends Ben & Shar & kids were vacationing the same time that we were in FL.
We spent a few hours with them one afternoon.
(not intending to swim=no bathing suits along...but it was ok)

addalie was in her GLORY because
(even though they aren't really the same age)
Zoe is one of her "besties"!
(they are the same size though) ;)

Scott's favorite burger place (hole in the wall)
is conveniently located across the street from the condo that we stay in.

"daddy-kisses"

toes in the sand

wonder what she's thinking?

We went to Pinecraft one morning with Scott's parents & grandparents.
*YODERS for bfast
*visited the new produce store
*went to my mom's house & picked grapefruits.

Scott's gma

we even saw Annie!  i'm sure she would be thrilled that this picture is on my blog! ;)

the grapefruit blossoms smelled so sweet!

jyla seems to think that she is cool!

Scott & I also got to go to a Phillies Spring Training game.
Thank you Ken & Karen for watching our girls.
It was a wonderful break for us.
Afterwards we drove to the beach (Clearwater)
& had dinner at an authentic local restaurant.
We enjoyed fresh grouper sandwiches.

I think that this may have been one of my most favorite vacations ever!
The girls weren't angels...in fact they were difficult at times...
but it was ok because Scott & I were able to handle them together as a team more as opposed to at home when he's working more...
the weather was warm & we had lots of fun times together as a family.
We enjoyed a few delicious meals cooked by Scott's mom which was a nice alternative to eating out all of the time.  Everything was very low key....only doing things that we wanted to do...
& relaxing the rest of the time!
