last day of school

Their last day was 2 weeks ago.

Addalie was so upset that preschool was over...

it really threw her for a loop in a few different ways.

The preschool picnic was yesterday.

The girls were both so thrilled to see their friends again.

(I HAVE 2 SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES!)

3 if you count Scott.

These are some of Addalies best friends at school.

Addalie & Jyla already have 3 or 4 different playdates set up with preschool friends for the summer!!!

Addalie was pretty excited last week because she got a call from a bank in Willow Street.

The week prior she had entered a coloring contest at the bank & she ended up winning.

The bank kept her picture, but they gave her a gift basket with lots of little toys & a $15 Visa card.  She thought she was cool with her very own "credit card" :) 

Scott gave her 3 five dollar bills in exchange for the card

& she put one $5 bill in her piggy bank-

one $5 bill to spend at the dollar bins at Target-

& one $5 bill went to church & was put in the offering.

Our driveway got a make over today.

jyla loves baseball.

 yesterday she was practicing "her swing".

i had to run inside & get my camera.

she's a natural.

we never told her to:

"bend your knees"

"put your weight on your back foot"

"keep your elbow up"

but clearly she knows thats what you "do".

she tells us almost daily that she is going to play for the Phillies

;)

last night the girls stayed at grandma & grandpa stoltzfus's for the evening

& today grandma jane was here with them. 

(they said they read books all morning:)

& and know that my dad would LOVE to see the girls more often.

we are blessed.

our fun day in KOP

This morning I had a hair appt. down close to KOP.

I thought that I had babysitting lined up...but then that fell through

so I took the girls with.

I wasn't sure how it would go cause apart from the fact that it took over an hour to get to the salon,

(i only go to this place about once a year...but i love the stylist there!!)

I knew that I had a return to make at IKEA &

that I needed groceries too.

Never the less-I figured...they are old enough to "learn" how to "act" in public ;)

My hair cut went well...

& IKEA went well too.

Although Jyla fell asleep on the 15 minute car ride between the salon & IKEA..

so I carried her (top right pic below)

& tried to push the side-way rolling cart with 1 hand...while Addie rode on the back :)

I pretty much made a fool out of myself...
At IKEA Addalie quickly remembered that they had a play area for kids to stay at while parents shop. 

Well Jyla is not nearly tall enough to "get in" & every time she gets so so SO upset.

The same thing happened today as Addalie got to go but she didn't. 

After that we went to my favorite grocery store!

(while we were there, they both had total melt-downs...actually i kinda did too..so i guess that makes 3!) 

what is it with kids & grocery stores??????????

On the way home from Wegmans  we were hungry & I realized that we were only about 30 minutes from market...so we took a detour & surprised Scott.

But, I'm not sure if he evens knows we were there???  It was pretty busy!

Fun day all around...hopefully I wore them out & they will both sleep all night long tonight!!?

Today I washed Addalie's sheets

& before I had a chance to re-make her bed,

she & Jyla had made a tent.

They used the corners of her bed & her little IKEA reading chair with a fitted sheet pulled across.

They begged to sleep here together all night....

Scott & I just kinda looked at each other
because Jyla STILL doesn't sleep well at night.

but since nights around here are NEVER uninterrupted...

we decided it can't be much worse then it usually is :)

i can't remember the last time that jyla slept through the night!?

what a nice break it was for us to not be woken up.
