Last night our group from HOLT went on a river boat dinner cruise (but HOLT recommended that we didn't eat the food that was served because of getting sick so they order Papa Johns pizza for everyone.)
It was fun. A bit crazy...cause Jyla wanted to jump into the water...but still fun.
Today we are packing up our 2 adjoining hotel rooms that we've been living out of for over 2 weeks. It's been a little bittersweet for all of us to leave Jyla's country although we can't wait to introduce her to our home!
We have made so many friends here....& felt like we've been part of a "family" over here....so many others who are adopting & going through the same things are we are...everyone has a story....& though the journey is always a little different...it's also always very similar! I think that deep down inside I am a little scared to go home to the "real world"....It has been so wonderful to start to get to know our little girl here...& to have Scott & my mom (& Adds) close by all the time.
I know that the feelings are mutual for Scott & Adds too. This will be a FOREVER MEMORY with hard parts of course & times that were so intense, but sweet sweet parts too. We have quickly grown to love this culture & place. I know that this is just the beginning & that God will continue to poor out HIS grace on us & provide wisdom for us in the transitions to come.
Tonight we are going to pick up Jyla's passport/visa & then we are going to have dinner with our dear friends Brandon & Mandy & their little girlie Emmerson.
Then, tomorrow morning at 5am we will start our journey to the states!! PLEASE PRAY FOR US!!!
*Pray that Addalie & Jyla would do well w/traveling.
*Pray that Scott, my mom & I would have patience w/each other as we are working as a team. =)
*Pray for my sugars.
*Pray for us to get thru security ok,,,,i had LOTS of trouble w/my diabetes pump & the security officers on the way over here when we went thru security.
*PRAY FOR OUR FLIGHT CHANGE IN BEIJING!! We won't have much time at all...& we will have to claim our bags & then re-check them. (it will probably include some running through the airport so we've been told!)
**Thank you to all of you who have followed our trip here in China. God's grace has been SO evident to us....who would have thought that it would be hard for us to leave? =)) that is evidence of how kind the Lord has been to us & of how well HE has taken care of us!
WE CANNOT WAIT TO INTRODUCE YOU IN PERSON TO OUR LITTLE JYLA GRACE STOLTZFUS!!
Pictures:
1. Dinner on the boat.
2. Jyla trying to "jump"
3. Addalie & Joy Lynn. (Joy Lynn is one of Addalie's favorite people here! She is here w/her family adopting a little sister! Joy Lynn was adopted from China when she was 13 months old.) Addalie cried today when we had to say goodbye to Joy Lynn. They are flying out this afternoon. They live about 2 hours from us at home, so we are hoping to re-connect in the states.
4. THANK YOU KATHY for the shirts!! LOVE THEM! we've been having problems w/Jyla's shorts fitting her...but I really wanted to wear the shirts on the girls before we left & didn't think it was appropriate to only wear a shirt on Jyla girl =))...So, we safety-pinned them together & they stayed on. =)
5. Panda Bibs.

We've been away on our Pastor Couples retreat. But whenever we could we grabbed a computer to keep updated.
We are so grateful to the Lord for all His mercies. I got very weepy looking at these pictures and reading how you are.
We are praying for your trip home. For grace and protection and strength and wisdom.
Love you all so much. So GRATEFUL for God's blessing to you in giving you a new child. WELCOME, JYLA!!
