dutch wonderland

we are so blessed to have been given season passes this year!
just the girls & i have them-so we usually go when scott is working.
its a great way to get through the l.o.n.g. weekends when scott is at market.
we are LOVING it!

this is one of their favorite rides.
it whips them around & they laugh their heads off everytime ;)

boat ride

jyla is very timid with the bigger rides & the water slides.
but addalie will do anything that she is tall enough to do. (& she's really tall)

slowly but surely!

if you know me-
you know that what my girls eat is important to me.
so it was a bit sobering for me when we came home from china & the only things that jyla would eat were carbs & sugars!!
literally.
she has slowly been adding to that category.
today she agreed to taste a blueberry.
(usually that is half the battle...she won't even taste fruits/veggies)
but the more that she trusts us...
the more she will "try".
& SHE LOVES BLUEBERRIES!!!
yay!!
at this point the only other fruit that she will eat is bannanas & peaches.

I know to some that blogging about my girl eating blueberries may seem insignificant...
but really for her it's all about trust...& so after nearly 2 years-it is very rewarding & a "big deal" when we see times that she trusts us in new ways.
Addalie is elated that Jyla likes blueberries ;)

Fathers Day

My girls *love* celebrating things!
& they LOVE their daddy!
So we made a big deal about "Fathers Day" this year!

Side Note:
Even though life isn't easy & there are trials-
I want to focus on the blessings...& Scott being a father, is one of them!

Scott loves "Papyrus" cards--so we found a fun one!
In the morning as I was making breakfast-the girls gave him their handmade cards & a questionaire about "daddy".  I found it on Pinterest.
Scott loved hearing what each of them said. :)
His "gift"
-covered in stickers of course.
After breakfast-church-naps, we headed down to Northeast MD.
Scott didn't know where we were going.  It was a suprise.
We ended up at "Woody's Crab House"

Addalie will often make a heart shape with her hands
at random times to tell whoever is near that she loves them!
She did this at the resturant over & over.  :)
she loves her daddy!

After a yummo dinner we drove down the road to a beautiful park right on the bay!
We let the girls play for a bit- but then we had to hurry back for icecream before they closed.
The girls got a "free cone" at the ice cream store from their children's meal at Woodys.

Such a wonderful evening celebrating Scott & the father that he is.
*limit-less patience (which is good...cause the mother of the house is needing to grow in that area;)
*strong integrity (he is very careful not to tell the girls anything unless he is sure that he will be able to follow through on it)
*he tells them they are beautiful on a regular basis.
*he loves the Lord & is an example of that to them.

& also celebrating our 2 daughters & the gift that God has given us through them.
Without them-Scott wouldn't be a father. ;)
We are blessed!!

*miss nicole*

we love her!
shortly after we came home from china
it was recommended that we recieve some post-placement counseling.
& so Nicole started coming to our home.
she comes once a month to hang out with us for the morning.
she has been such a blessing to me-
as i have sorted through things with jyla.
both practically & emotionally.
God has used her to care for me & our family.
she communicates areas that she sees growth
& she gives great insight into the "reasons" why certain things are happening in little jylas mind.
she also just listens to me....
& usually she understands exactly what i'm saying because
she has "heard" the same or similar things from other families
that are walking through some of the same things.
