Guangzhou

We made it to Guangzhou!  (where Jyla is from!)  We were traveling most of the day so I didn't take any pics... It is a 3 hour flight from Beijing.  Our flight went well after it got started..=) we had to sit on the runway for about an hour & 15 minutes before taking off....but we're here.

Tomorrow is the BIG day!  We will leave at 2pm China time to go & see/get Jyla at the Cival Affairs office.  (2am PA time.)  We are very excited!!
A few prayer requests:

1. for Jyla.  Such a big transition!  we have no idea what to expect of how she will respond to us.  every child is different.  they did say that its possible that she's been back in the orphanage for the past week to start her adjustment to not being with her foster parents...we don't know for sure if that is the case..but regardless, this little girle probably won't know which end is up!  So thankful that God has Sovereignly planned for her to be with us!

2. for Addalie.  She is not doing real well.  Poor girl!  She is still not adjusted to the time change...she has woken up at 3 or 4am for the past 3 days & is barely getting naps....she is exhausted!!!  we have been doing a lot of sightseeing & traveling....& the food is SO different here...she isn't eating much.
She is also VERY VERY (did i say VERY =)) clingy to me....& if you know Addalie you know that that in itself is very unusual. She is even struggling to go to my mom.  I can't leave her.
She is excited for tomorrow...she already has so much love for Jyla, but it could be a challenge w/her current "state of mind".  (God will provide us all with grace.)

3.  my diabetes was great for a few days...but it's been "off" today...lots of high sugars.

4.PRAISE:  we are so thankful that my mom is with us.  it has been SUCH a blessing to us!  she is such a huge help!

since i don't have any new pics today...i will attach one from yesterday that didn't go thru. & when i get home & can view my blog i'll probably post more...cause i'm not sure which pics downloaded & which ones didn't.

THANK YOU all for your comments & emails.  we love hearing from everyone.  so sorry that we usually can't respond personally at this point...w/addalie's early rising..we aren't getting much sleep either...so we are trying to get to bed earlier--& that is usually the time that we finally get to check email/blog etc.

can't wait to share pictures of jyla with you!!!!

ps-mandi-i let addalie open your "gift bag" today because she was having a total meltdown..it was a life saver!  she loves it!

So glad to read your updates today. My eyes are tearing up thinking of dear little Addalie, your excitement, your blood sugars, the very mixed emotions, the looong flights, etc etc. And so glad that you are trusting God who knows how this story will end and is charge of it all! Praying for peace, grace, strength, wisdom, patience, and smooth sailing. Love to all. Gina for Jack and I
