1. Meeting with Jyla's foster parents! It was a great meeting. She had been with them for 11 months, until last week when we got her! We had a translator & were able to ask some basic questions. We asked about her sleeping habits because that has continued to be one of our biggest challenges with Jyla. Her foster mother told us that they slept with her in their bed...even for naps the foster mother would lay with her. hmmmmm....the Children's Home Director wasn't aware of this & apparently that is not supposed to happen because of the difficulty in transition to the "forever family". But, now that we know that it is easier for us to give Jyla more grace in this area...we realize this is what she is "used" to.....
2. We are tall,,,they are short! (almost humorous)
3. Not sure how we are going to break it to Jyla that the "no car seat" policy in China doesn't "fly" in the states! (& she's so small that she is still going to have to be rear facing!)
4. YAY for Mc Donalds! (Back home I have never gotten excited about eating at Mc D's.....but here....it brought a smile to all of our faces!)
5. Jyla & gma Jane (her 2nd time holding her)
