We have been getting some YUMMO meals from friends & family. THANK YOU all so very very much! It is a blessing to us! If we wouldn't be receiving meals...I'm sure we wouldn't go hungry....but I'm also pretty sure I would be feeding my family cereal 3 times a day. =) & you can be sure that if you stop in at our house, you will leave with a silly band or two thanks to Addalie.
Nate & Linda brought us food on Monday & they included this card!! It's hanging on my fridge!!! (& I've been trying to convince Addalie to go & hide!)
We all are adjusting....however there is still lots going on & there are many times where we are working through things with Jyla & Addalie too. I often find myself wondering (& praying) how to respond to Jyla in certain situations/tantrums/clingy times. Emotionally she has alot going on! I trust that God is guiding us as we have no idea what the last 2 years have been like for her....& her past has most definitely shaped who she is today. We are trying to learn how to parent her as it is COMPLETELY different then how we've been parenting Addalie.
Our nights are ok. On a good night, Jyla will sleep for about 3-4 hrs. at the beginning of the night, & then is waking up about every 2 hours & can take anywhere from 15-30 minutes to go back to sleep. On a "not-good night" like last night...it's every hour! STRONG COFFEE PLEASE!
Thanks again to all of you who pray for us on a regular basis!!

it was so wonderful visiting with you the other evening. jyla was such a sweetie & it was wonderful to be with your growing family.
we continue to pray and support you through this transition phase and be sure to let us know if we can help.
also, if D&S or any other take-out is calling your name, let us know. we'd be happy to bring more.
thanks for sharing your journey with us ang. i know we don't see you guys very often but we're praying for you and here if you need us.

thanks for the update, ang. we think about you often! i can somewhat relate as i've watched my parents work with isaiah who they adopted at age 7 i think. it's definitely a challenge...they've been through so much. praying for you often. looking forward to bringing you a meal and meeting jyla.
First of all...LOVED that card!!!
Secondly, I cannot imagine dealing with all the 'background' of your dear little Jyla...and the unknowns that cause her to respond as she sometimes does. What a HUGE learning curve...for ALL of you. And blessed sleep...when there isn't enough of that, it makes everything harder. You are amazing, though...not perfect, I know, but still quite an inspiration! (and I don't mean that in a fake gushing 'oh, you Supermom, you'...because you admit to possibly using cereal for your three meals. That is part of what makes you inspirational to me. You're 'for real' and you keep going, keeping pressing on even when you're tired and uncertain how to do what is best by your newest little family member...
Cheers to you!
