Earlier this week we went up to Hershey Medical Center for Addalie's (2nd attempt) MAG 3 Scan. It went much much better than the last time they tried it (at LGH a few weeks ago) This time, Addalie barely cried. The nurse got the IV in on the 1rst try. Praise the Lord! She had to be strapped to the table again. (they quickly realized that they would need extra "strapping devices" with Addalie because she is SOOO active) she was very frustrated by her immobility for the first 15 minutes, but we got her settled down & she actually fell asleep. This was also a blessing becuase she had to lay there restrained for over an hour while they ran the tests. The big machine that they used for the procedure reminded me of having an MRI done. Next week we will meet with our urologist to discuss the test results & hopefully get some clarity as to what will happen from here. She may have to have surgery to remove her kidney, or the doctors might just keep watching it.Here is a picture of Addalie showing me her big purple bandage where she had her IV in.

i'm glad things went as well as they probably could go. we were at hershey last week, to have madelyn's blood drawn for her hypo-thyroid and sometimes (if she really fights them) we have to strap her arm down or i have to basically hold her down. so i can relate, i'm glad thing went well and addalie cooperated. i also hope things continue to go smoothly with her kidney.
have i told you lately, she's too cute. just adorable.

Christopher had surgery when he was 10 months old and had to be put under and then we just waited out in the waiting room for an hour. It was not fun!!! Thankfully, it was nothing serious, but it gave me an appreciation for parents who have children that are subjected to medicine/doctor's/needles, etc. all the time. I felt for her (and you) as I looked at that ADORABLE picture of her & her purple bandage.

What a trooper! How great that she actually napped for you during the tests that would take a little of the stress off. It's hard to stay together when you know your children are uncomfortable.
I hope everything goes well from here on out.
