Texas!

Last week we flew to Texas for Todd's wedding. It was an adventure to say the least! This was Addalie's 3rd flight in 5 months. (& the shortest at 4 hrs.) She did great. Scott & I are becomming pro's at traveling w/a 1 yr. old. I've got lots of tips! =)

Yay! We were happy to reach our destination & feel the warm Texas sun! =) Addalie & I had to wait for 45 minutes while Scott was in the rental car line, but we didn't care, because we were outside in the 75 degree weather!

We stayed at an Embassy Suites (& LOVED the accomodations!) There was a "free" buffet breakfast every morning with anything that we could have wanted. Approx. 100 other friends/family flew down for Todd & Alicia's wedding & alot of them stayed here. Everywhere we turned we saw familiar faces. There were lots of volunteers to entertain A!

The bride & groom at rehearsal.

We don't get to see Brad very much because he lives in Florida so Addalie was soakin up LOTS of "uncle love"!

The rehearsal dinner was at Alicia's parents home. (by the pool) It was delicous! Ken & Karen served the meal & even brought fillet along from home. Yum!

the beautiful twins

Alicia has 5 sisters & 1 brother. Sammy & Addalie became inseperable little friends.

The day after the wedding Addalie & I drove to Austin TX where 2 of my good friends from YWAM live. Robin & Jess both have twins!! I hadn't seen them for at least 7 years. It was great to reconnect for a few hours! =)
After that, Scott, Addalie & I packed up & drove to San Antonio. We had a room at a Bed & Breakfast Boutique. It was right along the River Walk & absolutely gorgeous!!!

there was a cute little red fish in our room which of course A loved!

this is where we ate breakfast in the mornings.

The River Walk-lined with resturants & shops. So much fun!
There were lots of steps to climb if you wanted to cross the river or if you needed to get up to the street.....so we did this many many times!
Some of the rest of the family came to San Antonio for the day so we all got to have dinner together at a great Mexican resturant.
Ken/Karen & extended family on a boat tour of the river.

One morning it was raining so we decided to go to a nearby children's museum. We had lots of fun!
Addalie can't ever get enough of bubbles...she was in heaven with these huge ones.

We had a wonderful trip! Next weekend is Todd & Alicia's PA reception, so now we are busy getting ready for that.

Thank you Lazio Family!

This morning, the mail lady knocked on our front door & had a package for us! It was from my sister & her family for Addalie. Addalie was thrilled to say the least.
Can you tell how proud she is??

this doll cries & says "mama".

looking at books with her new baby doll.

Thank you Thank you!!!

Dedication

"I prayed for this child and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given to the Lord"

1Samuel 1:27-28

This past weekend we dedicated Addalie at church. It was a special time. Scott's parents & brother/wife (Doug & Mandi) came. We are so thankful for the blessing of her life & all of the JOY that she exudes.

This is a really blurry picture, but we are on the far right.

Culture Shock!

I have lived in Lancaster County for 25 year of my 30 years & still there are times when I experience culture shock! This past weekend was one of them. Scott had a sausage sandwich stand at the Gordonville Fire Co. Sale. This was his 3rd year participating as a food vendor & each year things go a little more smoothly than the last. Addale & I went over for a quick visit & because we aren't Amish, we were a minority! =) The pictures below are just a small glimpse of all of the things that are "for sale."

This was probably one of the most fascinating parts....they sell horses. The Amish men take turns getting the mic & "explain or brag" about the horse that is being bid on.
Scott & Taylor grilling non-stop!

Addalie LOVES horses. These were mules & they were much bigger than it appears in the picture...but A had no fear & tried more than once to pet them.
Eventually we found a little pony that was the perfect size. She is hoping that daddy made enough of money selling sandwiches to buy her one!

*this post is for the grandparents*

Yay! We are back up & running! My girlie is getting so big & has so many expressions, so I though I'd give you a glimpse....

"me & my sippy are soooo cool"

"Hmmm, do you think I can touch that & not get in trouble?"

"what?? i didn't do anything wrong!"

"pup-pup is thirsty for milk!"

already on the phone all of the time! sometimes she walks around with two phones, one on each ear, rambling in her sweet high pitch voice. (usually pretending to call "Da")

every day she finds my scarves & hats & gloves (they are in a big basket on the floor so they are right down at her level) & she brings them to me & always wants to wear them.

*pig tails* (that she is constantly pulling out!)

her crazy face

balloons are the coolest thing in her little world.
